A high pressure system is moving across us today. Winds are light and there is plenty of sunshine. We do still have a trough, with the risk of afternoon thunderstorms east of about Deniliquin to Shepparton to Eildon.

The high is out to our east from Thursday. This brings a stretch of dry, sunny and hot weather.

It turns humid on Sunday (still hot) and the risk of thunderstorms comes back.

A new system should bring widespread rain on Monday and Tuesday

A strong trough moves through followed by a strong cold front. Moisture running into instability will bring widespread rain, with the strong risk of heavy falls.


RAINFALL PROJECTION

No widespread rain is likely until early next week. This system looks like bringing widespread falls of 15 to 40 mm, with heavier totals over 50 mm very likely.
